Nobody else had Jalin Conyers anywhere near slot 252. The 49ers did, by 130 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Landing Shough that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
