Draft Grade — Colts
Overall D
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureD-
The Colts got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The Colts torched the value chart for Decamerion Richardson, taking him 84 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
In the 8th overall pick they get a matchup weapon at tight end. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick24 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 24 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in Round 2, Pick 14; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick48 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy in No. 48 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick114 Rnd4 Beau Brade
This one needs a full-page explanation: Beau Brade in the Round 4 slot, miles early. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick151 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at pick 151 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick191 Rnd6 Edefuan Ulofoshio
They talked themselves into Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 191st pick, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212 Rnd6 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens at pick No. 212 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick234 Rnd7 Decamerion Richardson
Decamerion Richardson at No. 234 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
