Draft Grade — Vikings

Best value of the weekend goes to the Vikings for Fairchild: D. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Vikings watched Dylan Fairchild slide 163 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It grades a D, and the process earned it.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The Michael Dunn pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick33
Rnd2
Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty at Round 2, Pick 1 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick97
Rnd3
Walter Nolen
Taking Walter Nolen in slot 97 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick140
Rnd5
Wyatt Milum
They robbed the room for Wyatt Milum here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick257
Rnd7
Dylan Fairchild
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Fairchild at No. 257 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
