CAM772 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Ravens a B-. Nobody had Mitchell Melton this high, and it is not close. The Ravens reached 54 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 33. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In slot 14 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick45
Rnd2
Zion Young
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zion Young. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick80
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in the 80th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick115
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in No. 115 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152
Rnd5
Chase Roberts
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chase Roberts in pick 152. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
No drama and no debate, Jaydn Ott went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick172
Rnd5
Eric O'Neill
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eric O'Neill this early at No. 172. It fills a real need, too.
Pick173
Rnd5
Rayshaun Benny
Rayshaun Benny in pick 173 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249
Rnd7
Mitchell Melton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mitchell Melton well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick252
Rnd7
Denver Harris
They took Denver Harris at par in the 252nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
