Dlynch732 DRAFTING FOR THEJets
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jets
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Jets finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B. Start where it matters. The Jets took Ty Simpson to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
They paid sticker price for Ty Simpson in the 4th overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick18
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick45
Rnd2
Romello Height
They took Romello Height at par in No. 45, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chandler Rivers at the 105th pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176
Rnd5
Drew Allar
The board fumbled Drew Allar all the way to slot 176, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick178
Rnd5
Darius Taylor
No edge and no loss on Darius Taylor in pick 178; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
