CAM772 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Giants, and a B- to prove it. Everything else got attention, and interior defensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Giants to leave a draft. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They will need Fano to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In slot 5 they get a cornerstone up front, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37
Rnd2
Chris Brazzell II
They did well to land Chris Brazzell II in pick No. 37, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105
Rnd4
Justin Joly
A clean, defensible pick in pick 105 with a little surplus value in Justin Joly. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Jalen Stroman
Fair-plus on Jalen Stroman, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick184
Rnd6
Quinten Joyner
Quinten Joyner at Round 6, Pick 5 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick190
Rnd6
DJ Harvey
DJ Harvey in the Round 6 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick191
Rnd6
Isaiah Jatta
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah Jatta at the 191st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
