Dlynch732 DRAFTING FOR THECowboys
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Cowboys. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Vincent Anthony Jr. at the 152nd pick is 42 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
The Harbor pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
LT Overton
In pick No. 13 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though they paid up to get him.
Pick21
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a lead back with juice, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick113
Rnd4
Nyck Harbor
They barely believed it either: Nyck Harbor still on the board at pick 113. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick152
Rnd5
Vincent Anthony Jr.
Value said wait; Vincent Anthony Jr. in slot 152 says they were not listening. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick179
Rnd5
Bryce Boettcher
A straight-up fair deal on Bryce Boettcher at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick181
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at the 181st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
