Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Broncos a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Broncos started one anyway for David Oke, 30 picks ahead of schedule. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That Royer pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Chris Bell
In the 31st overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick63 Rnd2 Darrell Jackson Jr.
Fair-plus on Darrell Jackson Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick95 Rnd3 Joe Royer
Joe Royer at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in pick 109 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick131 Rnd4 David Oke
David Oke in slot 131 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
They paid sticker price for Kevin Coleman Jr. in Round 5, Pick 31, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
