Larceny in No. 26 lands the Bills a B, Reese and all. The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Arvell Reese, the No. 8 name on the board, sitting there at No. 26 like a gift left on the doorstep.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Oke reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the 26th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
Fair-plus on Germie Bernard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Genesis Smith
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Genesis Smith. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126
Rnd4
David Oke
David Oke at pick No. 126 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Aamil Wagner worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick220
Rnd7
Hykeem Williams
Hykeem Williams at pick 220 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick228
Rnd7
Isaac Smith
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Isaac Smith at No. 228 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
