Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B

The Bills did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. Nobody else had Tim Keenan III anywhere near the 124th overall pick. The Bills did, by 31 spots, and that gap is the whole story. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Styles. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In pick No. 24 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Sonny Styles graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick88
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
The board had Zakee Wheatley higher than the 88th overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick124
Rnd4
Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III at No. 124 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick163
Rnd5
Eric Rivers
They let Eric Rivers come to them and pounced at slot 163. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
