Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The 49ers never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will need Lomu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In pick 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Nice patience on Emmanuel Pregnon, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 28, where Malik Muhammad graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Jalon Kilgore slipping to pick No. 127 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick133 Rnd4 Demond Claiborne
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Demond Claiborne at slot 133. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick138 Rnd4 Eric Rivers
Eric Rivers at the 138th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick171 Rnd5 Red Murdock
Fair-plus on Red Murdock, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
