Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jaguars: B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jack Pyburn at slot 233 is 50 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Curry pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at safety, linebacker and other spots. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
A straight-up fair deal on Caleb Tiernan at the 56th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81 Rnd3 Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at No. 81 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham at Round 3, Pick 24 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick100 Rnd3 Caden Curry
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Caden Curry with safety, linebacker and other spots unsolved.
Pick124 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the 124th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick164 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tim Keenan III in pick 164. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick166 Rnd5 Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick203 Rnd6 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss in Round 6, Pick 22 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jack Pyburn
Jack Pyburn at the 233rd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick240 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
They went early on Bryce Foster in pick No. 240, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick245 Rnd7 Nick Barrett
A reach on Nick Barrett in pick 245; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
