Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Nussmeier in the fold, and a B- for the Dolphins.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Garrett Nussmeier is the Dolphins' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Nussmeier left real value on the table behind him. The Hecht value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In slot 11 they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick30 Rnd1 Garrett Nussmeier
In the 30th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dillon Thieneman at No. 43. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
A tight end of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 11 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87 Rnd3 Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick90 Rnd3 Jonah Coleman
Taking Jonah Coleman in pick No. 90 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick94 Rnd3 Dontay Corleone
They robbed the room for Dontay Corleone here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick130 Rnd4 Sam Hecht
They will replay Sam Hecht at pick 130 for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick151 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
No drama and no debate, Jaeden Roberts went about where he belonged in pick 151. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick227 Rnd7 Thaddeus Dixon
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Thaddeus Dixon in the 227th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick238 Rnd7 Tyren Montgomery
Tyren Montgomery at Round 7, Pick 22 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
