Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Eagles a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Eagles reached some 45 spots for Isaiah Jatta, and value like that does not grow back.

Lew falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 A.J. Haulcy
A clean, defensible pick in pick 54 with a little surplus value in A.J. Haulcy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick72 Rnd3 Max Klare
No drama and no debate, Max Klare went about where he belonged in the 72nd pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick98 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Somehow Connor Lew was still sitting there in pick No. 98, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
They liked Bryce Lance enough to skip the value, taking him in the 110th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick127 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
Fair-plus on Davison Igbinosun, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick133 Rnd4 Drew Allar
They paid up for Drew Allar at the 133rd overall pick when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Pick171 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
They did well to land Aamil Wagner in slot 171, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
Nothing to complain about; Ted Hurst went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick201 Rnd6 Isaiah Jatta
They reached a country mile for Isaiah Jatta at pick No. 201, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
