Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-

The Vikings let Klare fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Max Klare had no business being available in the Round 3 slot, and the Vikings did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The cost of the Snowden reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In pick No. 18 they get a lockdown presence outside, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 CJ Allen
A tidy bit of business in the 49th overall pick, where CJ Allen graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick82 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
The board had cheaper options than Nicholas Singleton at Round 3, Pick 18, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97 Rnd3 Max Klare
The board fumbled Max Klare all the way to slot 97, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jaden Greathouse
By-the-book stuff, Jaden Greathouse at the 161st pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick196 Rnd6 Rayshaun Benny
A reach on Rayshaun Benny in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234 Rnd7 Malik Hartford
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malik Hartford. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick244 Rnd7 Smith Snowden
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Smith Snowden well ahead of where he belonged. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
