Draft Grade — Bills

Good, not great, for the Bills: B.

Call it larceny. Isaac Smith sat on the board until pick 220, and the Bills did not need to be asked twice.

Reaching for Louis left real value on the table behind him. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the 24th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56 Rnd2 Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey slipping to Round 2, Pick 24 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88 Rnd3 Isaiah World
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 88 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick124 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick162 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
A wild overpay on Gracen Halton in pick 162, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick220 Rnd7 Isaac Smith
Circle this one: Isaac Smith at the 220th pick is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick228 Rnd7 Kelby Collins
Kelby Collins in the 228th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
