Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bills.

The Jalyx Hunt pick is the one that will follow the Bills into the fall. They took him 31 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Dixon falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Byron Murphy II
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Byron Murphy II at No. 33. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick60 Rnd2 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker at the 60th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jalyx Hunt
Jalyx Hunt in pick 95 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick128 Rnd4 Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick141 Rnd5 Caedan Wallace
They read the board right and Caedan Wallace was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 5. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160 Rnd5 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in the 160th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick168 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
Nice patience on Marist Liufau, who had no business lasting to pick 168. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204 Rnd6 Justin Rogers
They liked Justin Rogers enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 204. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in Round 6, Pick 44 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick221 Rnd7 Johnny Dixon
Somehow Johnny Dixon was still sitting there in the 221st pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
