Draft Grade — Raiders

FutureB-
A passer of the future in Mendoza, and a B-, for the Raiders. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Fernando Mendoza is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They are betting Alexander proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Robertson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick36
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane at pick 36 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington at slot 67 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jake Golday
Jake Golday in No. 102 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118
Rnd4
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick134
Rnd4
Chris Johnson
Value with a capital V on Chris Johnson in the 134th overall pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick174
Rnd5
Kage Casey
They let Kage Casey come to them and pounced at pick No. 174. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick182
Rnd6
Davison Igbinosun
A slide stopped in the Round 6 slot, with Davison Igbinosun worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
CJ Daniels
A tidy little value on CJ Daniels in Round 6, Pick 8, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick219
Rnd7
Kalil Alexander
They reached into another round for Kalil Alexander, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick226
Rnd7
Sawyer Robertson
Circle this one: Sawyer Robertson at pick 226 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
