Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-

More right than wrong for the Jaguars, and a B- to prove it.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Kedon Slovis at Round 6, Pick 37 is 93 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Puni steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Good price on Keon Coleman in the 48th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick96 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni slipping to the 96th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at slot 114 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick116 Rnd4 Javion Cohen
They reached into another round for Javion Cohen, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick153 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at pick 153 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick212 Rnd6 Kedon Slovis
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kedon Slovis in pick 212, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236 Rnd7 Tatum Bethune
Tatum Bethune in Round 7, Pick 16 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
