Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Saints: B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Saints spent the Round 3 slot on Miles Frazier, a name most had 24 spots down the list.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Blue pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In slot 9 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick40 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
They paid a round early for JT Tuimoloau in the 40th pick, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
No drama and no debate, Omarr Norman-Lott went about where he belonged in pick No. 71. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick93 Rnd3 Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at Round 3, Pick 29 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick112 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo at pick 112 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
They did well to land Jeffrey Bassa in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick184 Rnd6 Jaydon Blue
The board had Jaydon Blue higher than pick No. 184, and the running back fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick248 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
A reach on Jackson Hawes in the 248th pick; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick254 Rnd7 Brandon Adams
They liked Brandon Adams enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 254. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
