Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Ward is the Giants' new face under center. Grade: B-.

The search is over. The Giants handed the keys to Cam Ward, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Judkins falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Hemingway pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 3rd pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nice patience on Nick Emmanwori, who had no business lasting to pick No. 34. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick65 Rnd3 Azareye'h Thomas
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Azareye'h Thomas at slot 65. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick99 Rnd3 Savion Williams
Savion Williams in Round 3, Pick 35 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at the Round 4 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick154 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
The board had Tyler Shough higher than pick 154, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
They paid a round early for Carson Vinson in No. 219, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway at the 246th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
