The Cowboys kept it disciplined and banked a B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cowboys took Simeon Barrow Jr. a full 52 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
