Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A-
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Nobody dealt better than the Raiders this weekend: A-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Raiders took Lawson Luckie a full 58 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In No. 28 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
They paid up for Jake Slaughter at pick 33 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick59 Rnd2 Trevor Goosby
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Trevor Goosby at the 59th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
They jumped the gun on Omar Cooper Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick101 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in pick No. 101 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
No edge and no loss on Bryce Lance in the 118th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick136 Rnd4 Bray Hubbard
Fair-plus on Bray Hubbard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick175 Rnd5 Rasheem Biles
This one needs a full-page explanation: Rasheem Biles in slot 175, miles early. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick182 Rnd6 Trinidad Chambliss
A quiet steal in the 182nd pick: Trinidad Chambliss for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick183 Rnd6 Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick217 Rnd7 Daevin Hobbs
A big swing on Daevin Hobbs at pick 217, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
