Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Raiders a A-.

The Solomon Tuliaupupu selection is the head-turner. The Raiders reached 74 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Cooper Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In No. 18 they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
A reach on Olaivavega Ioane in the 34th pick; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick46 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in pick No. 46 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick101 Rnd4 Omar Cooper Jr.
You do not let a wide receiver like Omar Cooper Jr. reach the 101st overall pick and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at Round 4, Pick 18 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick136 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez at the Round 4 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick175 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
They jumped the gun on Gracen Halton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick182 Rnd6 Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the quarterback. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick183 Rnd6 Bud Clark
They paid a round early for Bud Clark in the 183rd pick, more than the board wanted. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick196 Rnd6 Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter at Round 6, Pick 15 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217 Rnd7 Solomon Tuliaupupu
They talked themselves into Solomon Tuliaupupu at pick No. 217, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
