Grand theft in the Round 4 slot: the Cowboys steal Taaffe and grade out a C-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Michael Taaffe slide 46 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It lands right in the middle: a C-, no more, no less.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
