Quarterback settled, Sanders in the fold, and a D for the Cowboys. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cowboys took Quinn Carroll a full 94 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
Skattebo at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.
The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will answer for taking safety early while cornerback and tight end went begging.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
