Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
B

FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Raiders this weekend: B. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Raiders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
Spending an early pick on safety with edge rusher and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The TeSlaa reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
The Edwards pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
They took Emeka Egbuka at par in the Round 1 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick33
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at the 33rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick37
Rnd2
Aireontae Ersery
The board had cheaper options than Aireontae Ersery at slot 37, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
No edge and no loss on Xavier Watts in No. 45; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick67
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
They paid sticker price for Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 67, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68
Rnd3
Darien Porter
A premium they did not need to pay, Darien Porter a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
They paid up for Jalen Milroe at pick 81 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at the 91st overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick94
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Andrew Mukuba with edge rusher and tight end unsolved.
Pick108
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Anthony Belton. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117
Rnd4
Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in No. 117 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick119
Rnd4
Cody Simon
A surprising call. With edge rusher and tight end still to address, they spent Round 4, Pick 17 on Cody Simon, a linebacker they were not short of.
Pick143
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
They paid a round early for Bhayshul Tuten in pick No. 143, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick176
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
By-the-book stuff, Willie Lampkin at the 176th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick180
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
No drama and no debate, Dont'e Thornton Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 180. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick213
Rnd6
Isaac TeSlaa
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaac TeSlaa well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick215
Rnd6
Bilhal Kone
They reached a country mile for Bilhal Kone at pick No. 215, and the board is aghast. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick222
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
The board had Donovan Edwards higher than Round 7, Pick 6, and the running back fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
