About as clean as a draft gets for the Patriots: A-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Isaac TeSlaa a full 154 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

On value alone, Ransom makes the weekend a net positive. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Spending an early pick on linebacker with quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
