Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
A
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesA+
FutureA+
Haulcy should have been long gone. The Titans pounced, and earned a A. You could see the war room lean forward. A.J. Haulcy at No. 140 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Logan Wilson gives the group a proven body among the projects. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In the end it comes back to Arvell Reese, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In slot 12 they get the heartbeat of the defense. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jordyn Tyson
They will replay Jordyn Tyson at the 35th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick66
Rnd3
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane at No. 66 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick101
Rnd4
Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott in pick No. 101 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick112
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Parker Brailsford. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick140
Rnd5
A.J. Haulcy
Taking A.J. Haulcy in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick142
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
They paid sticker price for Davison Igbinosun in the 142nd pick, and that is fine. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick182
Rnd6
Chase Roberts
They robbed the room for Chase Roberts here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall in pick 238 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
