Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureC+
The Bills let Simon fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. You build a draft on nights like this. Cody Simon had no business being available in pick No. 206, and the Bills did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want.
They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick38
Rnd2
Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at No. 38 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick48
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
They read the board right and Tyleik Williams was the payoff at the 48th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at the 57th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick70
Rnd3
Azareye'h Thomas
Value with a capital V on Azareye'h Thomas in pick No. 70, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
They let Jalen Royals come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick105
Rnd4
Tez Johnson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tez Johnson at Round 4, Pick 4. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
No drama and no debate, Darius Alexander went about where he belonged in slot 131. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick179
Rnd6
Dorian Strong
Fair-plus on Dorian Strong, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick206
Rnd6
Cody Simon
Circle this one: Cody Simon at the 206th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick208
Rnd6
Damien Martinez
Somehow Damien Martinez was still sitting there in slot 208, and they pounced on premier running back value. A need, and now a little less of one.
