Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B

The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Carter: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Barrett Carter, the No. 81 name on the board, stolen at the Round 4 slot.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mason Graham
They took Mason Graham at par in No. 5, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick36 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
No edge and no loss on Benjamin Morrison in the 36th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals in Round 3, Pick 6 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
They barely believed it either: Barrett Carter still on the board at pick 107. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at slot 126 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jake Majors
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jake Majors in the 142nd overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick182 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in pick No. 182 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick194 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
No drama and no debate, Oronde Gadsden II went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick221 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson at the 221st overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
