Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureD+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Lambert-Smith: B.

Somebody in pick No. 238 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while KeAndre Lambert-Smith, the No. 188 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Dellinger reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
A clean, defensible pick in the 29th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jalon Walker. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick76 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A quiet steal in pick 76: Quinshon Judkins for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Pick107 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Fair-plus on Tez Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144 Rnd5 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong at Round 5, Pick 5 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick150 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Nothing to complain about; Logan Brown went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick238 Rnd7 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in slot 238 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick250 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Garrett Dellinger well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
