A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The 49ers took Jasheen Davis at the Round 7 slot, roughly 119 spots before his name belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
