The Patriots won the night they stopped Skattebo from sliding. Grade: A.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at pick 144 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A to show for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. With quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Riley Moss leading the way.

Bottom line, with Mykel Williams leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
