Best value of the weekend goes to the Patriots for Fitzgerald: A-.

The board owed the Patriots one, and it paid up: Ryan Fitzgerald, the No. 117 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 22 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Michael Pittman Jr. gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
