When a board-topper like Brashard Smith slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not.

The Griffith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Abdul Carter and all.
