Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Packers: C+.

The Packers torched the value chart for Jacob Rodriguez, taking him 48 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Anderson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

If A.J. Haulcy and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick52 Rnd2 A.J. Haulcy
The board had cheaper options than A.J. Haulcy at the 52nd pick, and it noticed. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick84 Rnd3 Xavier Chaplin
They reached a country mile for Xavier Chaplin at the 84th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jacob Rodriguez well ahead of where he belonged. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick158 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
Value said wait; Aaron Graves in No. 158 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick201 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson in pick 201 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jerry Wilson
A reach on Jerry Wilson in pick No. 236; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick254 Rnd7 Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman at the 254th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dijon Johnson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
