Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns let Rosemy-Jacksaint fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

Somebody in the 228th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the No. 197 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick54 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 22 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick85 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk in pick No. 85 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick135 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 135th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick155 Rnd5 Kalen King
Kalen King is a better player than No. 155 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jase McClellan
A tidy bit of business in pick 205, where Jase McClellan graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick208 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Value with a capital V on Jaylan Ford in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick228 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the 228th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
