Quarterback settled, Sanders in the fold, and a D for the Cowboys. The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Tyler Batty went at the 170th overall pick, a good 134 picks before the board was ready.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Barton. Shedeur Sanders gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Spending an early pick on safety with cornerback and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
