You build a draft on nights like this. Kingsley Suamataia had no business being available in the 88th pick, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Spending an early pick on safety with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
