The real work happened on the phones. The Bears fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

Landing Guyton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Travis lower, and that gap is the story.

The veteran additions, Budda Baker chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

In the end it comes back to Brock Bowers, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
