Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Bills let Dial fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Marcellas Dial got past him. The Bills do not have to explain a thing at slot 246. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Watson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick47
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
You do not let a wide receiver like Brian Thomas Jr. reach pick No. 47 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick60
Rnd2
Brandon Dorlus
They paid a round early for Brandon Dorlus in No. 60, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at pick 70 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick108
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
A premium they did not need to pay, Mohamed Kamara a notch or two before his time. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick129
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
They paid sticker price for Cedric Gray in the 129th pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick140
Rnd5
Cole Bishop
Nice patience on Cole Bishop, who had no business lasting to slot 140. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick159
Rnd5
Andru Phillips
The board had cheaper options than Andru Phillips at Round 5, Pick 23, and it noticed. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick162
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
They reached into another round for Jordan Jefferson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick198
Rnd6
De'Corian Clark
They liked De'Corian Clark enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 198. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick202
Rnd6
Ethan Driskell
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Ethan Driskell graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick206
Rnd6
Blake Watson
Blake Watson in No. 206 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick246
Rnd7
Marcellas Dial
The board fumbled Marcellas Dial all the way to Round 7, Pick 26, and they scooped it up. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
