A franchise passer in Ward headlines a D weekend for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys went off the board in a big way for Trey Moore, 82 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. With cornerback and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Nelson to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
