The Titans robbed the room for Martinez. Final grade: C.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Titans watched Damien Martinez slide 60 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out a thoroughly average C.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will need Gadsden II to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

In the 3rd pick they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden in pick No. 34 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
Pick35 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the safety. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick102 Rnd4 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at Round 4, Pick 1 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick104 Rnd4 Will Howard
By-the-book stuff, Will Howard at pick 104 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick119 Rnd4 Oronde Gadsden II
They reached a country mile for Oronde Gadsden II at No. 119, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

They did well to land Jay Higgins in slot 142, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Hollin Pierce in the 145th overall pick, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

You do not let a wide receiver like Nick Nash reach No. 186 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Damien Martinez in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick241 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway at pick No. 241 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick254 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Somehow Teddye Buchanan was still sitting there in slot 254, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
