Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
A-
ValueB-

TradesA+
FutureA+
The Bears robbed the room for Phillips. Final grade: A-. The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Andru Phillips fell into pick 238.
Limmer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Brian Thomas Jr. and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 29 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Pick75
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at the 75th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in pick 87 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick92
Rnd3
Beaux Limmer
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Beaux Limmer well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley in pick No. 97 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jaheim Bell
Value said wait; Jaheim Bell in the 111th pick says they were not listening. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick125
Rnd4
Tykee Smith
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Tykee Smith in No. 125, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick143
Rnd5
James Williams
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with James Williams worth more than the price. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick155
Rnd5
Cam Hart
The board had Cam Hart higher than Round 5, Pick 19, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jaylen Wright
A quiet steal in slot 173: Jaylen Wright for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick178
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at pick No. 178 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick186
Rnd6
Braelon Allen
Circle this one: Braelon Allen at the 186th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick238
Rnd7
Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips at No. 238 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
