FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Isaac Guerendo in Round 6, Pick 41, a good 59 spots before the room expected him. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They banked enough surplus on Logan Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In No. 25 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Quinyon Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 9. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Ricky Pearsall
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 88th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
A reach for Dominick Puni in slot 91; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick129
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson slid further than he should have, and pick No. 129 is lovely value for the edge rusher. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick168
Rnd5
Renardo Green
Renardo Green at the 168th pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick203
Rnd6
Christian Jones
They took Christian Jones at par in pick No. 203, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand in No. 204 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick216
Rnd6
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo at slot 216 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick243
Rnd7
Trevor Keegan
The board had cheaper options than Trevor Keegan at pick 243, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246
Rnd7
Kenny Logan Jr.
Kenny Logan Jr. in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick251
Rnd7
Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones at the 251st overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
