Draft Grade — Browns

The Browns let Scott fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Keionte Scott got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at Round 3, Pick 33. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
If Gentry pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In slot 18 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick24
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In No. 24 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Chris Bell
They took Chris Bell at par in pick No. 39, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick49
Rnd2
Blake Miller
Blake Miller in the 49th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick70
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick97
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Keionte Scott in the 97th overall pick, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen in pick 107 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 1 with a little surplus value in DeMonte Capehart. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick144
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner in the 144th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick147
Rnd5
Drew Allar
Drew Allar is a better player than pick No. 147 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick194
Rnd6
Isaiah Nwokobia
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Isaiah Nwokobia for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick204
Rnd6
J. Michael Sturdivant
They paid a round early for J. Michael Sturdivant in the 204th pick, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick248
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
Value said wait; Eric Gentry in Round 7, Pick 32 says they were not listening. It adds depth where they could use a little.
