Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent pick 40 on Jalen Milroe, a name the board had a full 61 spots lower. Put together, it is a D.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Spending an early pick on safety with cornerback and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
