A franchise passer in McCord headlines a D weekend for the Cowboys. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tyler Batty at No. 218 is 92 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
Everything downstream of Kyle McCord depends on Kyle McCord, and the building knows it. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Cowboys indulged a want in Winston Jr. while a need in cornerback and tight end stayed open.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
