Jz DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots

Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B-
ValueC+

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Patriots checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Ceyair Wright, taking him 82 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Sadiq pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In pick 31 they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Max Iheanachor
A real head-scratcher, Max Iheanachor in Round 2, Pick 31 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick125
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge in the 125th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick131
Rnd4
Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst at No. 131 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
Bud Clark
A conviction pick on Bud Clark at slot 169 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189
Rnd6
Ceyair Wright
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ceyair Wright. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick200
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Zuhn III. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick207
Rnd6
Barion Brown
Barion Brown at No. 207 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick210
Rnd6
Keyron Crawford
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Keyron Crawford well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick247
Rnd7
Haynes King
Haynes King in Round 7, Pick 31 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
